The High Speed Internet Marketing Workshop is led by four seasoned online marketing professionals. Each has extensive experience in his area. All speakers are drawn from the Atlantic Canada Internet Marketing Association (ACIMA), and are popular speakers at the annual Atlantic Internet Marketing Conference.

The speakers are:

Rob Swick, AlphaSearch Internet Marketing

robswickRob Swick is Internet marketing veteran with over a decade in strategic consulting and leadership roles. A much sought-after speaker on wide variety of Internet marketing topics, he has developed, planned, managed, or written literally hundreds of websites and CD-ROMs for promotion, education, and information delivery to special audiences. Rob has taught at the university level, has produced five major conferences on Internet marketing including the annual Atlantic Internet Marketing Conference, and is founding President of the Atlantic Canada Internet Marketing Association (ACIMA).

Rob provides strategic, search marketing, promotion and training solutions to businesses throughout North America. From providing training for small businesses to creating online site strategies for major corporations, Rob’s clients range from home-based businesses to the Official Tourism Website of Nova Scotia (NovaScotia.com); from ski resorts to blue chip clients such as Sony, Esso, Novartis, and Merck.

George Inglis, Propel Design

George Inglis began his design career in 2000 by branding local companies, creating their marketing collateral, and developing their websites. George is a hands-on technology aficionado who immersed himself in graphic design and graduated from an intensive program at McKenzie College in 2004.

George’s services have been commissioned by companies where he has worked as the lead designer and as an extension to their existing marketing teams. His clients have included Cape Breton Resorts, Atlantic Business Interiors, Saint Mary’s University, Recreation Nova Scotia, Sampling Technologies, Northwood Care Inc., and Ad Astra International.

While he has completed an array of multiple print and web design projects, George is fascinated by progressions that can be made in the field of graphic design. Advanced web design such as Content Management Systems (CMS) is an example of George’s commitment to incorporating cutting edge technologies into the design solution.

 

Peter Sickles, AlphaSearch, Search Optimization Expert

petersicklesPeter Sickles is a writer and search engine marketing professional with six years of experience in Internet promotion and 12 years in professional communications including public relations and travel marketing. Peter’s formal background in Public Relations and his book and magazine writing experience, provide the foundation for his work optimizing, creating, improving and adapting, website promotion copy. Peter’s broad writing background, and his research and strategic skills expertise form the foundation for his search engine optimization and online marketing skills.

Peter has degrees in the Arts (Saint Mary’s, 1984) and Public Relations (Mount Saint Vincent, 1991). In 2000 he published his first book, Pete’s Guide to Good Cooking (MacMillan Canada/CDG Books). He was Food and Travel Editor and writer for Lifestyle Nova Scotia Magazine from 2002 to 2004. He has been a contract writer doing Internet work for the past 7 years.

Jeff White, Principal, Kula Partners

jeffwhite_aimWith over 14 years’ experience in the design industry, Jeff White has provided his pragmatic design insight to many of Atlantic Canada’s leading companies. When the opportunity presented itself in early 2004, Jeff decided to take the plunge and strike out on his own. He hasn’t looked back. As the lead designer on projects for clients as diverse as Nautel Limited, J.D. Irving Limited, Maritime Life, The Shaw Group, NSBI, the NSCC and many others, Jeff has applied his understanding of the design process to hundreds of projects. From corporate identity, multi-channel advertising campaigns, interactive kiosks, CD-ROMs and website/e-commerce solutions, Jeff has been involved in all facets of creative design and development. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication from NSCAD University. Jeff is also currently under contract with NSCAD University as a part-time interactive design professor. He lectures frequently on topics as diverse as web standards, social media and conducts training sessions with clients looking to expand their knowledge of design and marketing. Jeff presented several lectures at the Atlantic Internet Marketing Conference in May.
